For Outlook 2010, why does the calendar show 00:00 for all-day events

Just moved from Outlook 2002 to Outlook 2010. All-day events used to show without a time, which makes sense to me. But it seems that Microsoft feels that their customers need to be told that all-day events start at 00:00, and put this first on the subject line for the monthly view.

I found a work-round: it does not do this for recurring events, and this applies even if the "recurrrence" is just one instance. But is there a better option?

I have no problem with an all day event starting at 00:00 as that's what it is. What I do have a problem with is that it ends on the same day at the same time. In other words according to that, the event is no more than 59seconds long! It should either end on the next day at 00:00 or on the same day at 23:59!
