Exchange 5.5 coexisting with Groupwise 5 (using Groupwise as connector until full migration)

I'm unble to reply to external email messages. When replying to the message receiving the error message

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

[Domain.com].user on 1/4/01 9:52 AM
The recipient name is not recognized

However, when replying in the original is showing <user@domain.com>
Any ideas???

(this was cross posted in the Groupwise forum here at Tek-Tips too)

It looks like it's trying to convert the email addresses to Groupwise addresses. This usually occurs if there is a problem with the Groupwise addressing rules.

I am having this exact same issue. Did anyone ever resolve it?

I'm having a similar problem in that converted email messages from groupwise to exchange do not have the correct email address.

If I have an address in groupwise of:

fred.bloggs@company.com

it gets converted as:

bloggs@fred

Is this the same problem. If not, any ideas how I can
convince the groupwise client to use the default address not the botched address

tia.

I have Groupwise 5.5 and Exchange 2000 and have this problem. Did you find a solution for this? Appreciate the help.
