Footer calculation in Detail section

In the Report footer section, I have =Sum([CountOfApp Count])...

In the detail section, I would like to have the calculation
[CountOfApp Count]/(Sum([CountOfApp Count])) to give me a percent of each line compared to the total..

The formula gives me an error but Sum([CountOfApp Count]) is accurate..

Is my logic wrong or can't I ask for a footer result calculation in a line item?

You won't be able to pull a Footer calculation into the Detail section.

You could do your Total calculation in the query, and then calculate the percentage in the report.
