I figured out one reason why I am not getting some spam. For this same reason, I am not getting the mail I need. In changing servers I lost one email address which is listed on one of my web pages. This is straight forward html, no java, as I need to make it easier for people to reach me. I don't want to have a form (people need to attach documents, which is difficult enough for them working with their own programs) and I am not java savvy.

Right now the page suggests mail your resume to jobs@myplace.com (made it up). So those who picked it up aren't getting through, and those who want to send resumes aren't either. I think if I change it to a=mailto: yada>My Business</a> or whatever the wording, there will be no improvement. Putting the address as Myaddress @ myserver.com or MyAddress(at)my server.com is either going to have people trying exactly those addresses, or thinking I we are tacky as hell.

Any suggestions? JLL

I have spoken with three web designers (in San Francisco there's one on every corner), none of whom had an answer. This is terrific! Thank you.

smah - I am just getting back to report the success of your tip. My email spam has all but disappeared over the past week or so. It appears that the bots don't necessarily keep the addresses they harvest (or there wouldn't have been a drop) but continually renew their lists.

I have passed this on to the site designers who told me it could not be done.
