I have had no luck using Microsoft WEFT for embedding fonts into my webpages. I can't waste any more time on it. But, I have an idea that I would like to use if possible. Is there a way to create a quick batch or self extracting program that will carry out a font download and install to the right place. The fonts folder. A minimum of clicks would be nice. Like one. Please let me know your ideas on this. I know nothing of this type of thing. Thanks, Mr Dinsdale.

Mr. D,

Actually can't say if what you are planning is possible.

You could suggest that downloading a particular font would allow the user to view the site as intended and offer a link to download. But, I think it is overall best to use a web safe font for the body of your text. I prefer Verdana myself.

Use your special font to create Gif headings etc. This way they can be viewed by anyone who can see the image.

More here ...

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal Smith

I agree with AMysticWeb, exotic fonts on webpages are a BAD idea. If you have something that you *REALLY* want to appear in a special font then just make it an image. If I browse to a webpage that has funky fonts I generally don't hang around to read it, and I DEFINITELY would never install a font just to view a webpage the way the author that it was 'supposed' to look.

Thanks for your input. At least I learned something. the reason i wanted a special font was because it is for a wedding web-site, So we were trying to make it fancy. I have found that monotype corsiva is fancy enough for the job.
Thanks again.
