I am designing a magazine cover with a multicolored background image, can you please tell me what I should do to avoid the fonts blending in with the photograph?

I am completely new to professional desktop publishing so any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Adagio

Take a look in any shop with a lot of magazines on display and see what works and what doesn't. Generally speaking, if the type is large enough and in a clear font, and probably done in either white or yellow, it will stand out against a photo in the background.

I had a look today at a few magazine covers - all with photos behind the text. As well as the suggestions in my earlier post, I noticed that many of them outlined the text of the important bits.
