I have a whole family of fonts, all real "Adobe" type one fonts, that don't show up if I create a PDF file.

There are 20 fonts all in the TektoMM family.
These are all fonts that look like hand lettering on a technical drawing in a variety of weights and condensations.

Anyone have any idea why?

I would like to use these fonts on occasion.
I haven't found any other font in my system that doesn’t show even True Type.

Hi, Nhojekim,

So you have Adobe Type Manage installed? I've not used multiple Master fonts for some time now.

What are you using in your Font tab for your Distiller job options? Try checking "embed all fonts".

Hi Big John

I have Adobe Type Manager installed and I have embed all fonts selected.

I don't think that this was always the case with the fonts, but it may be that when I used them in the distant past I wasn't making PDF files of them. Just sending the native PageMaker files to the printer.

It has been like this for a long time at any rate.

Every other font I have works except the 20 in this family.

There are some True Type fonts that are very similar that I could use but I try to avoid True Type for anything that is going to any kind of PS. format.

Weird. Tekto was the free MM font suppled with ATM, IIRC. It was handy for use on technical drawings.

Have you tried re-installing the font?

How are you creating the PDF? Export… AdobePDF… or by printing to FILE: and converting the file with Distiller? Either way make sure you're using the correct Distiller PPD - ADIST5.PPD whihc displays as "Acrobat Distiller 3011.104"

Usually I use the print to file method since I need to have crop marks on the art.

If I am just making a PDF to E-mail to the client I use the quick and easy way.

The font doesn’t show up either way.

And 3011.104 it is.

I haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling the fonts.
Since there are 20 fonts involved all in the same family I figured that there was something about the family itself but I guess its worth a try.

I’m not doing any better with my other problem of having my icons revert to the default ones no matter what I do.

I posted that one on the Windows XP forum.
