Fonts, anyone?

I have been trying to find something that shows what fonts are supported in each platform/browser. I could just make images for stuff, but then the DL time would go throught the roof, and the site wouldn't get a high SE rating.
If I have to break down and buy a book on it, that's cool. This has been a pain in the neck for a week now.
