font problems with OS 9.2

I just updated my system to 9.2 and now my fonts are screwed up. The mac fonts are fine but any fonts that I install are jagged. I have installed ATM and ATM deluxe but there is no change in the fonts. Does any one know how to fix my proble because it is driving me crazy. Thanks

So you have the ATM light control panel installed. You are using the latist version.

Have you rebuilt you desktop at all? If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

What MacOS version did you come from?

PageMaker (if you are using it) needs to have the latest/greatest ATM Deluxe or ATM Lite installed after you install PageMaker. The ATM Lite that comes with PageMaker 6.5 is defective with OS9.x

Are your font troubles system-wide or just in certain apps?

Rebuild the desktop and zap some PRAM just for good measure.

Have you got ATM to smooth fonts in preferences? Are you just loading the printer fonts instead of printer and screen?

The problem seems tobe with all installed fonts in any application. I have got atm to smooth fonts in the preferences but that does not make any differance. I was using OS 9 before I updated it. How do you rebuild the desktop. So far no change. Thanks

I am still having the same problem. I think it may be some conflict with ATM Deluxe and os9. Does anyone have any suggestions because nothing is working.

To rebuild the Desktop, restart holding down apple+option until it asks. Good idea to do that every couple weeks. but your problem sounds more severe.

Have you tried disabling the ATM elements in the Extension manager then rebooting?

You claim this is with all applications? Appleworks as well?

I'd be very curious to have you try the following:

Apple Menu | Control Panels | Extension Manager

then Selected Set: drop down should be changed to OS 9.2 base (first this one then we'll try the OS 9.2 all).
Restart and check the font issue.

I went to the Adobe website and downloaded an updater to ATM Deluxe when I upgraded my OS to 9.2. That allowed me to use ATM Deluxe without any trouble. -- Chuckdesign
