Hello,

we try to copy layers from one PM-file (PC, PM 6.5.) to another PM-file (PC, PM 6.5.). On the first glance everything seems to be ok, but in fact the spacings and the font styles are completely chaotic on the newly imported layers. Now, if you click a text block (or change it in any way), the font style and the spacing are changing and everything IS ok. The only problem is, that we cannot click every single text block in a 1200 pages document.

Do anyone know, how to import/copy the layers in a way, that all styles and spacings etc. will be preserved?

Thank you.

You need to ensure that the styles in both publications (source and target) are identical. Easiest way to do this is to open a new blank document (which will be your target doc), and run the script to delete all styles except [No Style] (Window>Plug-in Palettes>Show Scripts>Text>Styles>Remove Unused Styles). If you can't find the script, then just drag each style to the trash can - except No Style. Then import the styles created in the source document (Styles palette>flyout arrow>Import Styles) and browse to the source document.

Also make sure that page size, 'compose to' printer, margins etc are identical between the two documents.

When you copy and paste from the source to the target document, everything should stay the same.
