HI, I'm working with windows 7 system
My question: I just upgraded to Indesign CS6.
in CS4 once you chose the font, say it started with "F", the dropdown would open to that font. See image:
but in CS6 now all the dropdown starts at alphabetical "A"..
has anyone else noticed this and find it irritating? way to change it?
Thanks.
Nikky

...yes, i see what you mean here...ID6 now keeps most recent fonts used at the top:

...so enter zero in the preferences to disable it...

preferences > type > number of recent fonts to display

HI Andrew.

No this is not what I mean. I am aware of the display font prior used.

but you'll notice that fonts now start with alphabetically always.

for example say i want to use Helvetica. I can put in the word helvetica and the drop down box used to open to helvetica. Not now. it opens at top with alphbetical 'A" and then i have to scroll down to 'H' for helvetica

I've seen this 'going backward' with fonts at different forums..

thanks.

...right, i see...

...i'm on mac here and it doesn't do as your describing, other than the recent fonts list, it behaves the same as CS5 here.

...not sure, only thing i can think of would be trashing the preferences file...

...i don't have a windows version so can't verify if it is a bug for windows only.
