We use crystal 9 with our software via the RDC. The reports preview fine on the screen, but any attempt at printing results in various labels and text fields coming up as 'garbled' characters - a mixture of allsorts, not symbols but completely random characters. The font used is just the standard arial. It works fine on our development system but fails on our customers (they have canon printers). They also get the same problem when printing to a pdfwriter driver.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Try doing a test report, with a basic sentence in all of the fonts that your system allows for Cyrstal. Then try printing it on your printers - where I work, some fail and some look different. And then send it to customers, or run it at their site, so that you'll know in advance what will work.

Crystal is notorious for being WISIWONT - something that looks fine on the screen will fail or look different when printed.
