I use an document image capturing system that dumps data about the documents in an access database. One of the fields contains a UNC that IS the location of the file (i.e. \\a06\imaging\repository\00000112.tif) I want my users to be able to click on the UNC to launch the TIF. How would I go about doing this?

Have a look at my FAQ: faq705-1955
It gives you a function that will launce the default application for whatever file you send it.
The best way to do it would be to put your field on a form and a launch button next to it.
Behind the button put

fhandlefile me!txtPathToPicture

where txtPathToPicture is the name of your field.

Hope that gets you started.

That faq you reference is "How do I compact my Access 97 database from code?" Can you please reply with the FAQ that explains how to launch an application.

Thanks for your help!

Nevermind I found it and it's working GREAT! Thanks for the help!

Ooops!
Sorry, it was the end of a very long day!
I copied the wrong one, I meant to show you faq705-1971, but I gues you know that now.
