Hi,

I´m trying the folder redirection features to the my documents folder. I have created a share at the server, I even gave full control to the everyone group on that share, however the folder is not being redirected.

I set the redirection to a GPO in an OU. The user is using XP and belongs to that OU.

IS there anyway I can see why this feature is not working?

Thank you

Check the UNC path of the folder that is being redirected. If you are redirecting "MyDocuments" make sure a user folder is created.

Path: \\server\sharename
The redirect will append %username% - so the full UNC path will be \\server\sharename\%username%. If the users logon name is jdoe the path would be \\server\sharename\jdoe.
If the jdoe folder does not exist then the redirect will not work. If the jdoe folder exists there should be no issue, but if there is; try sharing the jdoe folder and attempt the redirect again.

Hello,

I think the problem is not the redirect folder but this error that I take from the event viewer at the client machine:

Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.). Group Policy processing aborted.

Any ideas to solve this?

Thank you

Suggestions...

Check the computer account it AD. You may have to re-enable it or at worse remove and re-add it.
Also, verfiy that the workstations time is in sync with your domain.
