I'm working on my own personal domain in my home. one of my 2003 servers is going to be used as a file server for storing music, pictures and such. I know about redirecting the My Documents folder with group policy but I would like to be able to redirect other folders like the My Music folder to a single music share on my server all all the music is stored in one central location. Also I would like to change through the registry with group policy the default location media player rips and searches for music to the music share on my server. Is this possible? If so can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Because the My Documents folder consist of the My Videos and My Music, the entire my document will have to be redirected. If you notice, when you launch windows explorer and right-click on my documents you have an option for a different target location, but not for the subfolders of the My Documents. Even with the folder redirect you cannot redirect the subfolders in the My Documents to a singel share folder. Now as far as, where you want to direct your RIP, you will need to check if WMP or any software you use has a way to change the path and test if the software will use a UNC path to the share.
