MS Server 2003 Enterprise Ed. Clients Windows XP SP2.

I have a GPO set up and a folder redirection in place for the desktop to point to a share on the server for the desktop icons. This is not working though. The user can see the share if they browse to it via a run command but it is not pulling the icons to the desktop. I have confirmed that the icons are in the folder and the share access permissions are fine. The settings in the GPO are redirect everyone to the following folder. Could another setting be over writing this?

Any ideas?

What do you see if you run GPRESULT from a client machine? Is the policy being applied?

This can be finicky sometimes. In the properties of the folder redirection, click the "settings" tab and try this....

"Grant the user exclusive rights to the desktop" <Untick this if it's ticked

"Move the contents of desktop to the new location" <Tick this if it's unticked

Dublin37 is right on that. Even with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and administrator needs access to directories unless otherwise encrypted with extended rights.
