I have a problem that Windows Media Player 11 is causing my GPO folder redirection not to work. When a user logs into a PC, the GPO redirects there desktop to a location on the server where there Icons are held. However, Windows Media Player 11 automatically adds it’s shortcut to the desktop first for each new user that logs in and prevents the folder redirection from being successful. A manual solution is to delete the Windows Media Player Icon each time and log off and back on and then the folder redirection works thereafter. However, I want an automated solution to this problem so that Windows Media Player doesn’t add it’s shortcut automatically. A lot of our users swap desks a lot and therefore this has become a real pain.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
