What I'm trying to do is specify an AD Group then list all folders on a server that group has Read or RW permissions to. (I'd like to limit this to explicitly assigned permissions ignoring inheritance.)

I'm going to combine some groups, eliminating the redundant ones, but I want to make sure I don't leave any orphaned folders out there when I delete groups.

All suggestions are welcome.

Try fooling around with AccessChk, which is a Sysinternals utility available for free from Microsoft. Download the utility and place it in the System32 folder on your computer so you can easily call it from the command line.

- AccessChk v4.23

Here are some examples you can tinker with to gather the information you are looking for.

Display group access for objects with read access

accesschk "domain users" -r \\servername\sharename

Display group access for objects with read and write access

accesschk "domain users" -rw \\servername\sharename

I've played with that a little and it looks like a good start. Thanks.
