Hello to all.
I have a Win2003 domain server on which I store (amongst other things) proprietary documents, installable software, etc.
The parent folder is named "infotech" and, within there, I have 2 subfolders "software" and "documents".
My "infotech" folder is secured to only allow Authenticated Users (read&execute, list folder content, read) as well as the default domain admins, etc., but NOT Everyone. Also, my domain account is part of a group named "tech support". Accordingly, that group profile was added to security for the "infotech" folder having Full control. Permissions are inherited from "infotech" to its children.
My client computers have only 2 user accounts: a local administrator that comes with the pc and the domain account.
Here's my question. When I sit at a client computer, I want to be able to install software from the "software" subfolder. However, the domain account (user) doesn't have access to that folder. Yet, I want to log in as the domain account so the software will be properly configured for the domain account when they log in afterwards (? At least I assume that's true).
Would someone knowledgable please suggest a proper approach to this situation?
Thanks in advance for your time.
