Folder Icon Missing

When I started my computer on Monday, the folder icons had all changed to True Type font icons. I have gone into files, view, edit file folders, change icons, but whatever icon I choose, it always reverts back to the TT icon.

Does anyone have any idea what happened or what I should try next. It's just an annoying thing, it doesn't stop me from doing my work.

Reading old posts for specific problems...don't you have to install fonts? Something may have shortened the list of fonts available. Open Control Panel and check the fonts tab...check View/options...is there a True Type fonts tab...if so check that and there is a check box that employs ONLY TTF on the system. Make sure it's unchecked.
