I have this folder and I do not want anybody creating subfolders in it. Is there a way to deny "Create folder/Append data" without affecting the creation of files. At the moment if I deny "create folder/append data" users are not able to create new files, they can only read files.

Folder & File permission question

You should have:
Traverse folder/execute file
list folder /read data
read attributes
read extended attributes
create files /read data
read permissions
This is applied to this folder, subfolders and files.
You do not need to deny anything. Just dont check create folders/read data.
