Morning all,

This one has me really confused

Virtual server 2003 running on 2008R2

This is a problem regarding a shared data folder that just contained excel files, previously the folder had worked fine, however when we open the folder today it shows only a couple of excel files and 30 files with no extension and filenames e.g. 46A48000, 0BF0D000 with a file size of 538Kb, it then gets stranger, by using the recent documents links from peoples workstations we can open the excel documents that are no longer showing in that location, then if we try to save them as the same file name it says that the document already exists, is we save it as a new file name in that location it saves but is then not visable after a refresh, if we browse to the folder we can create a document and it appears but then if we refersh the folder it dissapears.

I ran a dir from the cmd prompt in that folder and it lists the unusual files and shen shows a file not found message.

any help would be really appreciated

Thanks

Stu
