Hi all,

I am an experienced database programmer with SQL Server & Access. I have started a new job where I now need to support some Filemaker Pro databases.

I've been asked to create a FMP backend (not a problem) that will import data from a webpage. I don't just want to publish the database.

The page is a place for potential students to apply to a school. There should be a series of text boxes, check boxes and radio buttons. The valid values should be pulled from the FMP database. I need to capture data from the web page and input this into the FMP database. I have no idea of where to start. I am not very experienced in web design.

Currently all webpages here are created using Frontpage. As you can see, I'm limited to the tools I can use.

Is there a way to create the webpage in frontpage and using some type of plug in to FMP? I'm lost.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

hello there!
Your 1st step would be using/learning CDML-ClarisDynamicMarkup Language. This is a native language to FM and it binds on top of HTML.
Go to and scroll down to files "FileMaker Pro CDML Tools and Templates" and download those files...they contain examples and syntax for CDML.
FrontPage or even notepad will work!
SQL will NOT helpy you at all or be used in CDML/HTML!!!!!
for help I would suggest a FM oriented community at good luck!
