FLV Player

Hello Guys,

I feel a little embaraced about asking this question, but i havn't worked with fash much in the past so i'm hoping you can help.

I'm a CF web developer by trade, and my current project required a small amount of streamed media for my users to be able to watch videos live on the site.

So i opted to go for a Flash Encoded video as this will play in most browers without anyone need specific pluggins or players installed, and also keeps things neat when it comes to bandwidth.

So i got myself a copy of Flix encoder from onto, which allows me to encode those videos as they are uploaded to the site into .FLV video files.

Now, i need to find out how to place these onto my site, I'm using XHTML but i have never included this kind of object before, do i need a special player flash file? or deos the FLV have the fancy looking player built in?

I've seen the play list here, and like the styleing, as i work with CF and FlashForms, it makes good sense to keep the styling similar.

What do i need to do to be able to play these FLV's to my users? And whats the code for including it into my site?

Also, as i'm having a fair number of videos, it need to be dynamic, do i have to place the root for the flv inside the fla file? or can i include it in the markup?

I'll give them a read through.

I've got this semi-working now, i downloaded an FLV Player, which is now sat on my site, but it seems to have beef with streaming the videos.

Take a look.

you'll see in the source its linked to a embed file which i imagine should play, if you goto that url by itself then the move plays, but try embedding and it wont play.

Any thoughts?
