I remember Daron Wilson stating that he used a HP Wirescope 350 cable tester and reccommended it.
I was wondering if anyone uses a Fluke DSP 4300?
I am trying to compare the two in features and ease of use.I want a high end tester for CAT 6 and maybe later fiber.
Thanks in advance.

Our company has both an HP and a Fluke tester. I like the fluke because the menus are alot easier to navigate and the connectors and casing of the fluke seems to be much more heavy duty. We use our fluke mainly for Cat6 and I love it. The hp works fine but the batteries on our units don't last very long anymore and they don't have a headset jack to be able to talk to the other end like the fluke does.

The HP 350 does have headset jacks, we use them when we test. Also, there is a firmware upgrade available that really fixed my quick battery drain issues.

Good Luck!

I agree with Fender. We recently purchased a DSP-4300 after test driving a few others (not the HP). The Fluke is painless to operate, has terrific permanent link cords, easy setup and management, and a very good database for cable management and reporting. Also, I view Fluke and HP as the two major testing companies, which is not to be underestimated. Fluke bought Microtest for a reason and they have come out with a fabulous suite of cable/fiber/network test equipment in recent years. If you buy Fluke, you are virtually guaranteed to be properly supported in the years to come. And, no, I don't work for them. I just like the unit.
