Which firewall would be better, a firewall that boots from floppy, or one from hard drive. Currently I have one set up on a hard drive system, but since I am too cheap to get a ups, I don't want to have to worry about power outages and unclean unmounts affecting the filesystem. Obviously, both firewalls are running from system memory, but the real advantage seems to be the floppy firewall considering if power goes out the filesystem is not affected. I have 128 MB of EDO memory for this old sucker if needed, so the amount of memory is not a problem. Just wondering what experience others may have had with this and what the opinions are.
