Hi,

Can anyone advise me with the following problem.

I have recently installed Win2k on to a PC. Each time I insert a floppy disk, the system seems to lock, I then have no choice but to force a reboot.

For example say that I have NOT inserted a floppy disk,I can click on the Floppy drive icon in my computers. The message I will get will be to insert a disk or cancel. If I insert a disk, the system locks. I thought that I may have a faulty floppy drive, but If I insert a Win 98 bootdisk and reboot, the PC will read the disk and let me boot to DOS.

I have also tried to reinstall the drivers for the Floppy drive, still getting same result.

Any ideas ?

All replies are appreciated.

Regards,
Windoz.

Is the floppy disk formatted or not? If it is a disk you have had for awhile it may be bad.
