Floppy Drive (Cant Write)

Yeah I have started to make a second Pc but but my microsoft boot disk has gone belly up. My floopy drives then stopped working but I fixed that except now I cant make a new start up disk because it says "Error: Write Protect Error". What idea do u guys have?
 
Check that you have the cable on correctly it sounds like you are missing a pin.
 
Nah I dont think so because I have tried it with 2 floppys.
 
Well if you've tried a different floppy drive AND a different cable, check in the BIOS to see that it's not set as READ-ONLY.
