Flipping web page effect

I've seen it on the net, with things like Flash, Swish etc. does any one know if this effect can be created with php or html scripting?

which effect are you talking about?

you can interact with the browser in a similar way to flash by using xmlhttprequest in javascript (known as ajax).

you can create page transitions in javascript or use the built in mechanisms within IE (but these are not available to other browsers, sfaik)
