What application is needed to read the extension of these logs *.tcb? I've tried notepad, wordpad, and word but it is not formatted correctly.

Agreed, however with SU10 5.0 they introduced a new link in CPManger call "Flight Recorder". The file extension is .tcb and it gives you more information about the AML link, SLEE errors etc.
