Hello,

When I create a continuous form which has a sub form (or single form with two sub forms), I notice as I cycle through the records that my form suffers from a great deal of flashing or flickering across the tab controls.

I think this is linked to the data refreshing, perhaps as my underlying query has calculated fields.

I have read various threads regarding workarounds (using echo, painting etc) but these seem to do little.

I understand this is fairly well reported -
Any suggestions, or is this just a bug of access?

Many thanks Mark.

This is a problem that started with Access 2003, I believe, and is felt to be triggered by non-attached Labels on the Pages of a Tabbed Control. In addition to appearing when cycling through Records, it can be seen by merely hovering over Labels with the mouse.

Allen Browne has a short article, here, on the problem and cures:

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help.

Yes I have tried the label solution, however
after lots of research I understand it is just a
well known bug in Access that can't be fixed.

In the end I re-worked my form and used pop
ups instead of tab controls.

Bit of a shame, but sometimes I guess you just have
to accept the limits of access.

Thanks for your help anyway.
