Hello,

I work in a customer support office.

We have 4 employees, who use Win XP Pro.

Each of them uses 2 flat panel monitors.

Recently, the screens started to flicker.

All of these employees are using a power strip, with surge protection.

Is there anything that you can think of, that would cause this type of issue? Thanks for your assistance.

More information...

Are the computers themselves all the same, or what are the differences?

Have you tried the same monitors on other computers, or other monitors on the same computers?

What have you tried in troubleshooting the situation?

If its happening to all, I would assume some type of power fluctuations the power strips just can't deal with.

Try Plugging the flat panels to unrelated power sockets see if it still happens. Perhaps sockets in another room.

Its unlikely all the panels are failing at the same time, so its probably something more generic in the power grid of the room they are in, and the surge protectors may deal with over current but not undercurrent which is more likely to cause flicker.

Fans, heaters, air conditioners, fluorescent lights having a problem...either a power issue, or they are picking up RFI or EMI from something. (radio frequency interference) (electro mechanical interference)

I agree, most likely a power flux in the lines that is causing the issue...

also check the video cables, and what are the Ambient temps, the office they are sitting in may be to warm for the correct cooling of the video card. With that in mind, check the airflow on the PC's, as well...

rclark250,

FYI:

RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) = EMI (ElectroMagnetic Interference) = Electro Mechanical Interference (EFI)...
