Taking ABaldwin's suggestion and starting a new thread on the flex problem. Pasting the beginning here and will answer ABaldwin's questions.

Original Text:
We did have a 3rd party flex app for Taxware that no longer works, and there are fields assigned to taxware, so wonder if that could be the problem? The flex project took away the address push buttons on order entry and replaced them with F8, but this no longer works, so Customer Service and Sales are not to happy. I wonder if we could put the push buttons back for BillTo and ShipTo addresses?

I appreciate any info. thanks.

Janet,

If you or your VAR changed the fields in EM then I think you are in big trouble.

As for your flex issue. It is difficult to say whay your flex is not working not knowing who wrote it, what exactly it does, and what exactly was required to bring it online.

When did it stop working?
When did the posting, IM trans, and MRP stop working?
Were all of these and the flex working at some point in time?

Did they all stop working when this change was made to the fields?

As to putting the push buttons back, well once again see the above questions.

Was this flex app written by your VAR? If so I would suggest calling them ASAP and getting things fixed. If you are not using the flex app any longer I would have them return your system to a "pre-flex" state. In other words get your system back to the way it was before they installed the app.

If your VAR did not do the flex app for you then I would contact whoever did. Something like that would probably be more of a consulting thing than a tek-tips thing.

Thanks

Andy Baldwin

BTW I think it would be best to start a new thread for the flex issues.

Thanks

It stopped working with the conversion - this weekend.
All of the problems started yesterday - since the conversion, and yes they all worked previously. But I do not think the IM Trx, MRP Regen problems are separate from the flex problem.
The VAR that wrote the original flex app no longer supports Macola, and that programmer now works for Microsoft and is not available. Subsequently we had a VAR from Chicago amend the flex but they no longer support the NW. We had it amended a third time by Taxware, but are now in the process of going to Taxsys so that we can move to ES (taxware does not support ES). The flex did several things, popup notes from ARCusfil when entering an order, Taxware verification of zip/city/state for both addresses,
ask if an order confirmation should be sent and then if by fax or email and generation of the confirmation letter and sending. We have removed this flex from everyone and given them the one that only checks for taxware. (using event manager to send confirmations now).
So long story, but what I think we want to do is get back to the pre-flex state. Do you know how we would do this? Just remove the taxtest vb projects? Assuming there is an OE0101 project from Macola where would we find it? We did load flex for 300C during the conversion.

Janet

TOO much going on. I am not very familiar with Taxware. My ASSUMPTION though to remove the taxtest vb is to look for
1. OEO1o1.o in the macolaroot\vbaprj\OEO1O1 folder. Or log in as supervisor or whoever is running the code and modify the vb.

You state that
but what I think we want to do is get back to the pre-flex state.
. Does this mean that you want to remove ALL The flex behind the OE screen? If so then AFTER BACKING UP THE DIRECTORY you can delete the OEO101 folder from under the macolaroot\vbaprj directory. This will remove the vb code but you may have problems if objects on the screen need the code to function properly.

[!]Attention!![/!]
Make a backup before deleting these projects. You may need to put them back.

What did you convert from this week and what did you convert to
It stopped working with the conversion - this weekend.

First time in either thread I remember reading about a conversion.

Also what is
VAR from Chicago amend the flex but they no longer support the NW.
What is NW?

Without looking at the code and the underlying additions to the db and all I can not really tell you in this forum how to fix it all. I would probably suggest that you contact a good var that has Flex assets to deal with this on a consulting basis (try gainfocus.biz)

Sorry, my writing is even more cryptic than I thought. NW is Northwest. We converted from 7.6.100a to 7.6.300C so that we can go to ES -- if we get through this one. :)
I am copying the Macola screen for order entry to get the push buttons back. And will remove the taxtest vb - hopefully to replace it with Macola's flex project. Thanks for your help.
Janet

Carefull,

hopefully to replace it with Macola's flex project.

The only flex that Macola provides (unless they did some flex programming for you on a consulting basis) is the sample code installed during a flex install.

It has no real meaning or use and as of thelast time I looked at it generated errors.

If you need anything else just give me a ring.
