Using SSIS 2005 and importing data from csv to a SQL server database and getting this message:

SSIS package "Package.dtsx" starting.
Information: 0x4004300A at Data Flow Task, DTS.Pipeline: Validation phase is beginning.
Warning: 0x80047076 at Data Flow Task, DTS.Pipeline: The output column "Item#" (12626) on output "Flat File Source Output" (12580) and component "Flat File Source" (12579) is not subsequently used in the Data Flow task. Removing this unused output column can increase Data Flow task performance.

Sounds like you have a source column not being placed in your destination. This would be a better question for the SSIS forum though.

hope it helps,

Professor: NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

That is exactally what it means. You don't have the Item# column mapped to an input column on your destination connection.

That is pretty cool that SSIS points that out, although for some reason I am dreading the impending change over to SQL 2005 anyway...

Thank goodness they have allowed backwards compatibility for DTS (after only jumping through a couple of hoops)

Anyway, dukester - just deselect Item# as a source column (or add a destination column if you need it)

Thanks for clarification Denny
