I have written many reports using Crystal Reports. ALL of the reports had input files from databases such as Oracle and Access. I have never written a Crystal Report using a flat file where I had to identify the fields in the file, i.e. start, length, type, etc.....or use some type of delimiter.

I have no idea how to do this and can't seem to find out how. How embarrassing, I must have spend the last couple hours trying to figure this out and I don't have a clue.....

Can someone please point me in the right direction. Key words, menus, anything to get me going down the straight and narrow.

Thanks

You should be able to set up an ODBC DSN that connects to the file. Set up the connection using the Microsoft Text Driver.
