Hi,
I am building a website for my church and I need help with an effect that looks like a flashlight. I don't know if it's done with a mouseover and would prefer not if possible. I would like to have my title lightup on form open if possible. Thank you very much for the help.

God Bless,
Russ

huh? onformopen is that a new function :/

so do you just want a dull form to get bright on a certain part.

Actually it's probably on form load but I'm not an HTML expert. Yes bright on a certain part.

Thanks..r

Thanks pete. Any other options if I don't know flash?

Well, the question I have to ask, of course, is why must it be done this way? At the moment, it smells like a Mystery Meat Navigation type thing:

Basically, you're talking about a mouseover event, right? In this case, it "looks" like a flashlight shining on something.

Do you want pixel-by-pixel control over the location of the brightness disk, or are you cool with it only highlighting certain things. Both are evil, but think of it as a question that allows us to better customize your own personal evil.

If you want pixel-by-pixel control, that's a tough row to hoe, especially if you're not too familiar with HTML.

You mentioned you weren't too keen on it being a mouseover event, but that might be the least brain-draining method of doing it.

Alternately, goofiness aside, you probably would benefit from using Macromedia Flash to build a site with this kind of interactivity.

I might be wrong, though.

Cheers,

Like Lovecraft? Know Photoshop? Got time for the Unspeakable?

there is no onformopen function that i know of at least, pretty much what you want to do must be done in flash (period).

other wise make an image and change its opacity to say 60% and save that at say 1.jpg then save the image again at 100% opacity and call it 2.jpg then have a mouseover on 1 that switches to 2 so it "lights" up.

What ever the easiest way to go is. If it's a mouseover than that works for me. If you could give me some code I would apprecaite it. Something like just flashlighting a title on a homepage.

Thanks..R

Hi,

What program or code do I use to set this? 100% opacity

Thanks..R

do you have fireowrks or photoshop?

Hi,

I think you mean this script:

View the demo. Is that what you want?

Hope this helps!
