The bios will usually revert to the original version on the MB.

What exactly do you mean? are you trying to CLEAR the CMOS or really FLASHING the BIOS? Clearing CMOS just clears the NVRAM (where the BIOS stores it's info as to how it is set) and in that case NO you do not need to REINSTALL THE BIOS...

HEH? you mean that if I flashed from BIOS v1.0 to lets say BIOS v2.0 that it would revert to BIOS v1.0... afraid NOT... but if you meant to say that it will revert to DEFAULT SETTINGS, then you are correct...

it does on my Asus P5B. Each time I cleared it when I had issues it reverted. Maybe diff MB's do it differently.

Aye, shorting the BIOS jumper will reset it back to default settings. Many motherboards (including some from ASUS) had a backup BIOS chip, which allowed you to restore the original version. Not quite the same thing.

So in short to

No, you will not need to.

Carlsberg don't run I.T. departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.
