Okay, this is a good one, but don't laugh.

I'm creating a presentation in Flash for my company. I need to incorporate Quicktime video as part of it. This is fine if I export the project as a Quicktime Video file, but the video doesn't show up if I export as a FlashPlayer file.

The real problem, is that if I export as Quicktime Video, then all the animations I've created as symbols and used as instances on the main timeline (Scene1) don't play.

So, if I want video, I HAVE to use the Quicktime Video export, which won't play my Flash-designed animations. If I want my Flash-designed animations, I HAVE to use the FlashPlayer export, which won't play the video.

See how screwed I am?

So is there any way my 3 weeks worth of work won't be a waste of time? Is there any solution to this?

HELP!!!

Thanks!

A solution I though of (may not be the best) is to export your quicktime movie as a bitmap sequence then re-import the bitmap sequence, then you can export the sound of your quicktime file from quicktime as a wav, then import the wav.

That way you will have pictures and sound.

If you export as Quicktime you can keep the Flash running but you have to think in terms of Flash 4 if you're using Quicktime 5 or Flash 3 if you're using Quicktime4.

Confused yet?

Quicktime doesn't support Flash 5 syntax so if you use dot syntax like...

movieClip.gotoAndPlay("start");

...you're out of luck. If you go through the script you've written and rewrite it in terms of Flash 4 with slash syntax and ignoring all the cool stuff that version 5 lets you do you should be able to get both video and Flash running happily together (I've done a few presentations this way and they work well if you're prepared to put up with the restrictions on your scripting).

If you don't need audio with your video though I'd go with David's suggestion of the bitmap sequence because you have so much more control of the finished output in Flash.
