Flash Voice Mail

Hello everyone, first time user on this site, long time reader. Have Nortel CICS s/w 7.1 with 2 port Flash s/w 2.0.1. Been working great for two years, now Gen-Del mailbox on ext. 21 cannot retrieve saved messages by pressing digit 6. I get the recording " the system was unable to reach the # specified for number notification" have powered down several times to no avail. Any thoughts would be appreciated, may need to default the voice-mail, this would be the last resort.

That IS a message.
The mailbox has Off Premise Notification setup it appears.

When the mailbox tries several attempts to call you but does not get a hold of you then it will finally give up (based on C.O.S) and will leave a message in your mailbox that says "the system was unable to reach the # specified for message notification".

So what you hear is actually a message left by the system.

Off Prem Notify:
It is told to call a DN/Mobile or Pager.
To change or disable it press 8 (ADMIN) then 6.

Make sure you have a secure mailbox password 6 to 8 digits long and not 1111, 1234 etc
It maybe the mailbox was hacked and has been calling oversea's, check the number to see if it is starting with 011 etc.

Thanks Curlycord for the information on unobtainable saved messages in Gen-Del mbx. Will try when Pandemic has come to a close.
