Hi All,
Have CICS w/4.1 WI 6.00
FLASH LITE V2.0.02 FC
I've refrenced my NORSTAR Compatibility Chart and it shows that this should not be an issue as long as the VM is 1.9 and up. (is this correct?)

My trouble is that the VM is showing STATUS- Not avail, and regardless of what port on the KSU I punch it down too, I'm unable to access any feature codes as they are all coming up INACTIVE FEATURE..even when trying F9*1.

I've tried INTERCOMMING the VM EXT and it replies NOT IN SERVICE.
I've changed lit cords
Verified port/dn with a 7310 to ensure my port is good
Changed port/dn (set relocation N) rebooted VM
Maintenance in CICS on that DN shows under DEVICE shows STK1..so it's seeing the VM.
I've disabled and enabled the VM port/dn and waited over half hour.
I was told that this was a working unit before I got it.
Any suggestions?

Connect the serial port on the Flash to the serial port on your PC and watch the bootup process to get a clue as to what's gone wrong. Settings are 1200 baud, 8-N-1.

As the software card says Flash Lite, this unit will not have auto attendant capability.

return it and get a call pilot...you must have gotten it from a vendor ...you didnt buy a phone system from some guy at the corner ..did you?

ski season has started

Yah I did an XFTEST...
no Features Active...
I got it off E-Bay..I wanted to use it to mess around with..
Yah..I'd much rather have a CP100 but it was a deal I couldn't refuse..
Oh well..I'll dive in a little deeper to try and figure it out..
Thanks for your respones as always.
Sometime you win..sometimes you lose.......

You should do as exsmogger suggested and connect to it with a laptop and watch it boot up. Sometimes good deals are too good to be true.

Open it and make sure the card inside has not come unseated. I had a customer who bought one off e-bay. They could not get it to work. They called me. I went on sight. I opened it and the hard drive or card was not seated. I seated it put back together and it worked fine. Goodluck.

Thanks for all your responses..
I realized that the after market labels on the phones were two digit DN's. I did a startup on the CICS w/3 digit DN's. I redid the startup on the cics wi/out the VM attached and then put it back to two digit. I then reterminated VM and reboot. Everything came up!

I can't seem to get the darn thing working on three digit DN's. I've tried to do a "REINSTALL" on the VM where CONFIG PSSWRD REQUIRED, and then changed the CICS DN length..rebooted etc but it never seems to work. The only way I can get the VM to come to life is when I XFTEST on CICS..change to 2 DIG DN's and F903....maybe amongst my testing I've done the steps incorrectly.

Check to software level of the flash and CICS if you have CICS is 4.0+ and the Flash is less than 2.0 it will not work CICS must be 2.0 and Flash 1.X
