Hi,

I was given a corporate DVD by my client. She wants me to take the video that's on the DVD and convert it to Flash format so we can view it online.

The DVD seems to contain about 7 file names, each of which exists in three fiel formats: .bup, .ifo, and .vob. I think the last file with the .vob is the actual video.

Does anyone know what's involved in converting this to Flash? And why are there so many files? are these the chapters (hope not)?

Cheers!

You'll need a ripper. Flash is in SWF format and DVD is a collection of vob's or chapters. There is a package called Flash DVD Ripper it's a piece of easy-to-use DVD ripper software. It is designed for the purpose of conversion from DVD to SVCD, VCD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVI video formats on-the-fly. I heard that this will also convert DVD to flash and visa-versa but even if it doesn't do flash, I think you can make a flash with flashplayer out of one of the formats above.

Check this out:
Maybe that will help.
