flash sound across scenes

All you ever wanted to know about Flash sound objects, but were afraid to ask!
If you're using an external sound .swf, loaded on another level (the only other way to have music overlap several scenes), then my guess would be that you could program a fade out of that external movie, at the beginning of scene 9 or ending of scene 8.
