flash remoting timing question

Hello! I have a site running lots of flash remoting. I've been inspecting the results in the net connection debugger and find some strange things. From the time it starts running all the queries and templates and such, it only has an execution time there of about 100-150 . . .yet, total time comes out to be in the 700s . . .this isn't a huge deal, but still causes lag for users. Its also not consistent, sometimes it runs much faster. Any ideas of what is causing this or any possible speed ups?
