Hello

newbie here, I am comfortable making some small Flash files, but I want to make a presentation that will loop on a plasma screen at a trade show. I have a couple of questions :

1)What size do I set the stage size to be ? The same as the plasma screen ? Or will it automaticlly scale it ?

2)Do I need to worry about using high-res images ?

3)Is it best to use a presentation style template or a series of clips linked together ?

Thanks for your help !

1) It depends on how you are configuring your plasma (and your playback computer). For example, if you set your computer to 800 x 600 and your plasma fills the screen then you should set your Stage to 800 x 600 but since plasma aspect ratio is about 16 x 9 your movie will be distorted so that your movie needs to be anamorphic. Another example, if your plasma can display only the middle portion of your 1024 x 768 screen (letterbox) then your Stage should be 1024 x 576. In any case you'll need to make your movie to fullscreen using fscommand.

2) Not at all. But if you made your Stage way small then the bitmaps will pixellated when blown up to fill the screen. That's why you should make the Stage to the dimension of the final display.

3) It's up to you - you can use a "player" which loads SWFs in turn, or you can just link SWF one after the other. (I usually create XML driven movie player which can control the playlist by time and day etc.)
