Flash player query??

I have designed a site in flash for a friend and he has an apple mac. He is now upset that we have designed the site in flash as he doesnt want to have to download the latest flash player (6) as he thinks that when ever he downloads something from the net it somehow f$#ks with his computer.

My question is, with the flash plugin being one of the most used plugins on the internet, is there really any way that by downloading the latest player its going to do any harm to his computer???

I just want to be sure on my facts b4 i tell him he sounds ridiculous.

In a word? No.

If he objects ask him why he thinks a multi-billion dollar company such as Macromedia would want to commit commercial suicide by deliberately distributing software they know is going to cause damage to user's machines.

Then again he might be an 'X-Files' fan and that's exactly what he expects you to say...
