If I can't figure this out I am ready to slit my wrists...

I have been working on a flash movie. It's very simple (two pictures and the rest text) with a few simple fades and other "out of the box" animations. The thing is, it has music in the backgroud, and the musical cues MUST line up perfectly with the transitions...

So I had everything cued up and had been previewing in the player. Once I upload the movie to see how it looks on the page, the first cue is off by 3 seconds...

The test site is If you download the file and play it in the player, the cues are EXACT.

This is because of load order. One layer or item in your movie, more than likely the graphics are loading faster than you audio files.

When you view it on your machine, there is almost an immeasureable processing time, aka you don't notice any cue errors.

What you need to do is have a simple pre-loader. A pre-loader plays a small very quick animation or displays a word such as "Loading," while your Main movie loads.

It does this using actionscript, and checking so often to see if the last frame of your movie is loaded.

Once it sees that the last frame is loaded aka all of your movie has been loaded, it proceeds to play the Main movie.

This will solve your problem.

You can see a tutorial on Pre-Loaders here:

I hope this helps you out. I had some similar issues when I first started using flash. The preloader solved them all.

These tutorials can explain it a lot better and simpler than I did above. Check it out!
