Hello,
I have a customer that I changed their AA greetings on. Before they just had the AA greeting with the prompts that they recorded on it. We changed the AA greeting to a more generic message. Then we set up greetings on the greetings tables. #1 is the morning greeeting. It goes Good morning and then the AA takes over. # 2 is the afternoon greeting. And # 3 is the after hours message which is the one that they want to play when the night button is pushed on the Attendent console. I tested it by setting the time on the system to the times that each message is to play. All that tested good. The problem is when the night service button is set it plays the AA greeting instead of the # 3 greeting that they want to play for after hours. I don't know how to get it to play the # 3 greeting. I've tried to find a place to point it to the after hours greeting but with no sucess. Thanks in advance.
Dmac,

It sounds like you set up correct. but to verify check out the following: Log in as sys coord mbx go to AA and the table 1 (assuming you are using table 1) at AA menu prompt press ok at morning:1 press play and make sure it is what you want. press next and at afternoon 2 press play again. press next and at evening 3 press play again. at non-business: 3 press play again. this verifies that what you are getting at the different times of the day will be what you want. next you neeed to press next/ok until the mo morn: time shows up. Here you need to verify the times for each of the four possible times of the day. (you can press next to scroll thru a day but when you get to the MO NONB: time press day to go to TUE Morn:) verify each day of the week, You will have to be very careful here since murphy will ensure that if you make any mistakes it will screw up your testing. Next you can change the time on your system to the time that you will change modes. (i useually set the system to 1 min before the schedule change so that the phone system can send the time change to the VM/AA) wait till the change takes effect and try to call the AA. Remember that the night mode button on the phone only changes the ringing configuration of the phone system and not anything on the AA, the AA is time changed. Make your tests and you should be ok

jerryreeve,
I'm pretty sure I got the times set correctly. When I set the time to 8:00am it will play the morning message. When it is changed to 12:00pm it plays the afternoon message. When it is changed to 5:01pm it will play the message that they want to play at night. It won't play when the night mode is activated or when ringing services is on. If I am understanding you correctly, when I get to the MO NONB: I should not enter a time for it to play that message? Just go to the next day and set the morning and afternoon times and not set the nonbusiness time ? Then when the Night button is pushed it will play greeting #3.
Dmac,

Dmac,
Two other thoughts:
Have the customer change the business status at the end of each day; or manually set the lines to answer after 0 rings and let the timer in Vmail take over the non business greeting....?

Arr,
To have the customer change business status it would be feature 982 and operator is the password, correct?
Dmac,

Dmac,
Correct. - The abusively long OPERATOR password can be changed shorter to make the process easier. I have two major customers who manually set rings to 0 for all lines every day because nothing else fits their needs. They just build it into the opening and closing routines of reception.

Dmacnumberfour,
Are you saying that the night button skips all greetings (1,2, and 3) and goes straight to AA, or that it goes to the "wrong" greeting when activated?

b.krike,
Yes when night mode is turned on it goes to the AA message. They want it to go to greeting three which is the afterhours message and the one that they want to play when night mode is turned on.
Dmac,

Ok- I don’t know why it would skip all greetings, but you do know that night service button will not put you to the night greeting - it will only make voice mail answer immediately. The greetings themselves are not dependent on the ringing service; they are dependent on the time. So to test it you will have to change the time of the KSU to after 5:00, then hit the night service button, and then see what happens. I know this was already mentioned, but I still can’t get a clear picture of what is happening.

b.krike,
I haven't had a chance to get back to this customer yet. I hope to go there tomorrow. If I don't nmake it one of our other techs is supposed to go there. I appreciate your help and input on this. I will keep you posted on this.
