Flash MX vs MX 2004 vs 8 ActionScripting

Hey all...I've been teaching Flash MX for a while now, and am currently starting to teach MX 2004 and 8.

My question, the users I have are generally great at designing and animating, but need help in coding. I liked MX for the fact that you could either be in Regular or Expert mode when coding, however I don't see this in 2004 or 8. have they gotten rid of it and just keep you in expert mode?

Definately on MX2004... Somewhat repaired with help & hints on Flash 8, after the uproar caused by MX2004!

Agreed. Flash 8 has much impoved code hinting over 2004 and a feature called "Script Assist" which is very similar to the old basic mode.
