Flash movie in Director slowing everything down.... need solution 1

I have made a thumbnail scrollbar in Director that brings up larger images. I also have a small flash movie that plays at the same time. Having the flash movie is important to my presentation, but it makes my scrollbar really slow and choppy.

So, I need to know how I can make these elements work together.

Is the Flash sprite ink set to transparent? I have found that this tends to really slow Director movies down.
