flash movie clip takes forever to download

I have highspeed dsl and the flash that I am working on has 10 photos with fade transitions and music. I thought there was a way to have it start playing immediately while downloading in the background.

I tested with 28.8 modem (inside the tool) and it played just fine ... Is there a parameter that says start playing right away and keep downloading in the background?

You have to build a preloader. That will ensure that the movie has downloaded before it starts, so it won't be choppy or anything.

You didn't say what version of Flash you are using, so I'll presume it's the lastest.

I followed the instructions from the link and what I ended up with was my movie flashing and echoing....????

Any thoughts I what I might have done wrong? I repeated the steps a few times and got the same results each time.

Do you have a stop(); action somewhere in your movie?
Otherwise it might just be constantly looping back to the beginning. Regards,

OK I found out which step in the process is creating the problem.

The instructions say to move the animation over 1 frame.

I guess I don't know how to do that, because when I insert the frame I ended up with 2 instances of the animation and it is playing both instances, alternating between the 2 and hence giving me the echo.....

So how do I shift everything over 1 frame?????
